Virtus.pro best ESC to meet NiP

Virtus.pro have progressed to the Upper Bracket final of TECHLABS 2013 following a 16-9 victory over ESC Gaming on de_mirage_go.

Following Ninjas in Pyjamas' convincing victory against Natus Vincere early on, it was Virtus.pro's moment to shine, as the home side proved that they are a strong contender by beating the Polish team without too much sweat.

Virtus.pro, who started out on the Terrorist side, were the first team to smile as they picked up the opening three rounds. ESC then reduced the deficit by winning a round of their own, but Virtus immediately hit them back and took the score to 6-1.

Some rounds were then exchanged between the two sides as the scoreboard showed 8-3 in favour of Virtus.pro, but it was without too much surprise that they were on cruise control for the remainder of the first half as they had shown that they were a notch above the Polish team.

Down 12-3, ESC looked a much more lively side after the break, winning the pistol round after a rush onto the A site following some good work from Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas.

Virtus.pro's double eco did little damage to the Polish team, who would further reduce the deficit by winning the fourth and fifth rounds.

Only four rounds set the two teams apart now, but Virtus.pro put a stop to ESC's momentum by winning their first round as CT. Filip "Neo" Kubski's side then pulled one back, taking the score to 13-9, but just when it looked like the rest of the game would go down to the wire, Virtus.pro regained control of the game and won the last three rounds to win the match, with Emil "kucher" Akhundov picking up the ace in the very last round, when his team were in a 5-on-2 situation.

Virtus.pro will now tackle Ninjas in Pyjamas to decide which of the two will secure the first place in the Grand Final, while ESC Gaming will fight Natus Vincere for survival in the Lower Bracket.
